THREE and a half acres of land in Kent have been bought to be turned into a new Jaguar Land Rover dealership for Jardine Motors Group.
The site, which fronts the A26 in Tonbridge, has been acquired from a private land owner, and Jardine is to invest £12 million in the site with the construction of a 43,300 sq ft car showroom and dealership.
It is expected to open in December 2018, with the Sevenoaks Jaguar and Tonbridge Land Rover dealerships relocating to it.
Jardine Motors Group brand director Darren Jennings said: ‘The upcoming new site is part of our ongoing investment into our partnership with Jaguar Land Rover and our roadmap to create new dual-brand “Arch” dealerships.
‘With the development of a new state-of-the-art dealership, we’re supporting both our own and the brand’s innovative and technological retail ambitions by creating an environment which appeals to our customers.’
Anthony Keohane, director of the automotive and roadside team at Colliers International, which acted for Jardine, said: ‘This new Jaguar Land Rover dealership will be situated on a prominent gateway site into the town and boasts excellent visibility and access from the A26.
‘With this investment from Jardine Motors Group, the new dealership will provide a state-of-the-art showroom facility for Jaguar Land Rover and include features such as an 18-car showroom, 24-bay workshop and a display of 100 used cars.’
