DEALERS who are concerned about not being able to buy stock over the Christmas period no longer need to worry, thanks to Manheim’s ‘Bid and Buy Now’ service.
Manheim Online has launched the post-Christmas service in order to allow retailers to keep buying stock between Christmas and the new year.
The new functionality will enable dealers to purchase stock 24 hours a day, seven days a week and they can easily access the service through the ‘Buy and Bid Now’ section of Manheim’s Remarketing website.
Between December 27 and 30, 2013, Manheim will be listing more than 750 cars and LCVs for immediate sale and all vehicles purchased during this event will qualify for collection or delivery in the first week of January.
Nigel Paling, online operations director at Manheim, said: ‘There were more than 113m visits to retail websites on December 26, 2012, while an estimated 10m shoppers braved the High Street. But it isn’t just the clothes and electrical shops that do well after Christmas; motor dealers consistently report December 27 to 30 as their busiest time of year.’
Paling added: ‘Consumers are expected to spend an extra £1.95bn this Christmas compared with 2012, and we expect the motor trade to benefit from some of this spend. The post-Christmas period is a traditionally demanding one for motor retailers and we’ve extended the ‘Buy Now’ programme to cover this busy period to ensure that dealers can replenish their forecourts with good quality stock quickly and easily.’
