Manheim sends LCV staff ‘back to college’

Time 8:36 am, July 25, 2013

ManheimMANHEIM has scored an industry first as it becomes the only commercial vehicle remarketing specialist to send its staff ‘back to college’.

The new course, which has been tailored specially to the commercial vehicle industry, is designed to improve the overall professionalism and customer service levels within the used van market.

Staff will commit to an intensive one-day course, which is then followed by an exam. On completion, candidates will achieve the Certificate of Excellence in Van Operations.

This means that Manheim now has specialist staff at more than half of the dedicated CV centres across the UK, all of which have achieved the Freight Transport Association endorsed qualification.

Director of commercial vehicles at Manheim Remarketing, James Davis, said: ‘To see our first batch of willing students be awarded this qualification is truly fantastic; I am very proud!

‘As part of our CV strategy and to underpin our CV Customer Charter, I made a commitment that our people would be trained and developed to engage confidently Manheim’s customers in the specialist area of commercial vehicles.’

He added: ‘By the end of the year, all of our key customer-facing CV specialists, across remarketing sales, operations and other group businesses, will have been through this training. We will join the likes of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles which has trained its entire franchise network to this standard.’
