TV PRESENTER Melanie Sykes has collected an Abarth 500C from London-based specialist dealership Motor Village Marylebone.

The new face of BT Sport’s MotoGP TV coverage  – who shot to fame in the 1990s as the girl with the northern accent in the Boddingtons beer adverts – said: “Having owned the Fiat 500C before, I knew I wanted to go back into a convertible, but I also had my eye on an Abarth. So when Abarth told me there was a 500C version I was really excited. And just look at it – it’s fabulous.”

Highlights from the weekend’s first MotoGP race of the year, which took place in Qatar, will be shown on ITV4 tonight at 8pm.
