Mitchell Group raises money with Chester to Cardiff bike ride

Time 10:48 am, August 9, 2018

EIGHT cyclists from Mitchell Group have completed a cycle from Chester to Cardiff in support of a local charity.

The generous peddlers from the Cheshire Oaks-based dealer group set off at 1pm on Friday August 6 to complete the 182-mile trip in aid of a local cerebral palsy charity Stick ‘n’ Step.

The charity, based in Wirral, receives no statutory funding, and thus relies on donations and fundraisers to stay afloat. Its work includes a conductive education programme that allows affected children to improve their mobility, confidence and independence.

The journey took 24 hours in total, and has already raised over £5,000 so far. Six members of the cycle team were staff members from Mitchell, with two of their partners also joining in.

The trip marked the third annual Mitchell charity bike ride, the previous two also having been run for local causes, showing a commitment to getting involved in the local community.

The Mitchell Group, established in 1990, runs franchise dealerships for Skoda, Lexus and Mazda, with over £50m of turnover achieved so far. Both North Wales and Chester are served by Mitchell dealerships.

With the ride completed, the team is now hoping to meet their £9,000 target on JustGiving. Donations can be pledged at this link: https://www.justgiving.com/teams/mitchellgroupc2c
