THE Mitsubishi Motors dealership network continues to grow, with three new dealers taking on the franchise.
Midgley Motor Cars of Skipton and Belmont Edinburgh have just opened their doors while Lings Mitsubishi, in Lowestoft, is set to open in the near future.
The latest additions mean eight new dealers have joined Mitsubishi Motors in the UK since the start of 2014. The new Edinburgh site becomes the second dealership in the Belmont Group to join Mitsubishi, after Belmont Wallyford took on the franchise last year.
The dealerships are joining Mitsubishi at an exciting time. Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show the Mitsubishi brand achieved a 57 per cent year-on-year increase in passenger car sales during May.
Mitsubishi’s sales growth started in 2013, with passenger car sales for the year ending up 38 per cent and Mitsubishi being crowned the UK’s fastest-growing mainstream car brand of 2013.
Lance Bradley, managing director for Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome these newest dealers to the Mitsubishi family. Each of them has a reputation for excellent customer service and is well established in their local community. They are joining our network at a very exciting time and we naturally wish them every success.’
Paul Barkshire, a Director at Lings, which opens later in the summer, said: ‘Lings and Mitsubishi is a natural fit and we’re very enthusiastic about the future. Everyone at Mitsubishi is passionate about what they do and that is the same with us here. There’s a lot of regeneration going on here now so it’s an exciting time for us and an exciting time for the area.’
