MITSUBISHI’S latest TV ad is so racy, it has been BANNED from being shown before the 9 o’clock watershed!
The ‘Birds and Bees’ TV and cinema campaign has been deemed ‘inappropriate’ for younger viewers.
This is because of what the company descries as ‘light hearted innuendo’.
The campaign first runs on February 9th. In it, a dad tries to answer a question from his son – ‘where do I come from?’
During a drive in the Lancer, conversation inside the car is mirrored by events outside… as you can see below!
Lance Bradley, Mitsubishi’s director of sales and marketing, said that the censors clearly ‘thought that the light-hearted innuendo throughout the ad could be seen as inappropriate – especially for younger viewers.
‘We are happy to have the TV ad shown after the 9 o’clock watershed, and will also be making the ad available through our website, too.’
Dealers can hopefully expect a similar stir in showrooms afterwards, too!
It’s not the first time Mitsubishi has caused a stir, either. There’s the ‘yes, it does mean that’ FQ badging on the, well, ‘very’ quick Evolution Lancers, for one…
