080213mcodesMOTOR CODES has revealed the winners of its Garage of the Year awards.

20 businesses across the country – 10 franchised dealers, and 10 independent garages – were awarded ‘Garage of the Year’ titles for their geographic areas.

The winners were picked from the testimony of around 11,000 customers – each nominating and voting for their favourite centres. The list of nominations was then drawn up into a shortlist, where customers were asked to vote again to select Motor Codes’ award winners.

In the Franchised category for England, Bartletts Seat of St Leonards, Roy Tolley Citroen of Colchester, Sturgess Jaguar of Leicester, Sherwoods Vauxhall of Stockton, M53 Ford of Birkenhead, Sherwoods Vauxhall of Northallerton, and Swindon Motor Park Seat all won gongs.

For Scotland W Livingstone Seat of Glasgow scooped the title,  Northern Ireland’s award was given to SERE Seat of Lisburn, and Wales was represented by Toyota World of Bridgend.

Independent garages were also awarded – for England, Top Marques Repair Garage of Hitchin, iAutoUK of Coventry, Cavendish Motor Company of Ashington, ABP Motorsport of Crewe, The Test Centre of Deptford, Tickenham Garage of Celevedon, and Alexanders Prestige of Boroughbridge.

Scotland’s D&G Autocare of Dunfermline, Northern Ireland’s Newton Abbey Autocentre, and Wales’s A1 Motorcare of Cardiff were also given awards.

‘This is about putting trustworthy garages in the shop window, giving their customers a way to show their appreciation and, importantly, ensuring that people don’t have to feel anxious about choosing a garage,’ said Motorcodes’ managing director, Chris Mason.

‘Even better for motorists, our results are a stark contrast to the findings released this month by Citizens Advice, which has clocked up a similar number of complaints about garages over the past year.’
