Motor Village UK hosts David Bowie art exhibition homage

Time 9:36 am, September 26, 2017

FIAT Chrysler Automobiles’ flagship dealer Motor Village UK has once again been chosen as the venue for a top art exhibition – this time a presentation of photography and artworks of singer David Bowie.

The Wigmore Street site in London was converted into a stylish gallery and private view drinks reception last week to showcase the homage to the Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane performer.

Organised and curated for Motor Village UK by artist liaison agent Monica Colussi, the exhibition both salutes Bowie while adding to his legacy with a collection of existing and commissioned work, including paintings, photographs and sculptures.

Featured artists include Guido Harari, Rankin, Lincoln Townley and Louis Sidoli.

Motor Village UK was chosen because of its central London position and unique design and space. Situated just off Oxford Street, the showroom was originally created in 2008 with future exhibitions, displays and receptions in the plans, as well as the ability to showcase and sell cars.

Colussi said: ‘David Bowie’s sense of subjectivity was the inspiration behind the show. It’s a chance to celebrate both his private and artistic persona, and we are delighted that Motor Village UK has agreed to host us. It’s a perfect and unique place for this type of event.’

Rob Calver, managing director of Motor Village UK, added: ‘We’re very happy to host this important exhibition.

‘The subject of the exhibition is legendary and the featured artists are among some of the greatest available. We were again able to offer a first-class reception and a unique showroom environment.’

This Thursday, in a related event, the Motor Village UK showroom will host an exclusive launch of the book David Bowie: A Life, written by Dylan Jones, editor-in-chief of GQ Magazine.
