1 in 10 want sports cars

bugatti_veyron_bcaUK buyers are getting ready for a sporty spring, with more one in ten drivers looking for a sports car, says Autotrader.co.uk.

The trend has been highlighted by searches growing month-on-month by 75 per cent for the Dodge Viper, 50 per cent for the Bugatti Veyron, 31 per cent for the Lotus Excel, 25 per cent for the Pagani Zonda, and by 18 per cent for the Lotus 2-Eleven.

Increased interest in sports cars wasn’t just restricted to newer models, however, with searches for more classic marques such as the Porsche 1600 and Ferrari F40 receiving 76 per cent and 40 per cent growth in the last month respectively.


Matt Thompson, group marketing director for Auto Trader, said: ‘Brits are renowned for their attraction to the speed and performance associated with sports cars and ahead of an exciting spring sports season, both on and off the track, it’s great to see this passion is still alive and well.

‘With the UK home to many of the world’s most innovative Formula 1 engineering teams and hardcore motoring enthusiasts it’s clear to see we love our cars and our sports, so putting them together is a perfect combination.’
