Porsche Centre Preston opens its doors for the first time

Time 11:24 am, May 21, 2019

LANCASHIRE-BASED Bowker Motor Group has officially opened its new Porsche dealership in Preston.

Porsche Centre Preston ‘is a window into the world of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer’, the dealer group says.

The 43,000 sq ft dealership features a 35-car showroom, 13-bay workshop, two customer handover bays and two ‘direct dialogue’ bays allowing service advisers to demonstrate the scope of technical work.

With electrification an indefinite part of the Porsche brand’s future, the dealership also has electric vehicle charging points.

Group chief executive Paul Bowker said: ‘It has been exciting to watch the transformation on the site since we announced the award of the franchise in September 2017.’

The dealership is on the junction of Watery Lane and Strand Road in Preston. Demolition work to transform the site began in July 2018, and Bowkers said many local companies and contractors had benefited from the investment since then.

‘There has been a real sense of expectation as the building has taken shape. We’re delighted to be open,’ he said.

‘We feel responsibility to make sure that the visitor experience we create is worthy of both the city and such a prestigious automotive brand.’

The dealership will be hosting a VIP celebration opening evening in June.
