MITSUBISHI Motors UK has appointed Rob Lindley as its new managing director.
Lindley, pictured, will take up his new role on April 16. He succeeds outgoing managing director Lance Bradley who is stepping down from the position after nine years and 18 months working with Mitsubishi to become vice chairman of the company.
An experienced veteran of the motor industry, Lindley started his automotive career with the Ford Motor Company in 1989. During his career, he has held roles such as managing director of Mazda Motors UK and global sales & marketing director for McLaren Automotive. His most recent position was vice president and managing director of Harley-Davidson Europe, Middle East and Africa.
A resident of Ardington, Oxfordshire, Lindley graduated from the University of Nottingham with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with Industrial Economics, after which he completed a course at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Commenting on his appointment, Lindley said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Mitsubishi Motors in the UK at such an exciting time, both in terms of important new model launches and as the business merges into, and benefits from, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.
‘Since importing its first vehicles in 1974, Mitsubishi Motors has grown to be a highly respected brand in the UK and there is tremendous potential to take it to even greater heights. I am very much looking forward to working to further develop the company and joining its established and very passionate team.’
Bradley added: ‘Rob is the perfect person to continue the growth of Mitsubishi Motors and, under his leadership, it will be in very safe hands.
‘He has an excellent record for results and he is someone I have known and respected in the industry for many years. I am very pleased to welcome him to Mitsubishi Motors and look forward to working with him and seeing how the brand evolves under his expert guidance.’
