ONE of the most popular figures in the UK motor trade, Umesh Samani, is expanding his operations.
Samani, the founder of Specialist Cars of Stoke-on-Trent, has taken the reins of his business partners and neighbours, service and repair outlet The Harris Motor Company.
Surviving the recession of 2007-8, Samani has successfully run his dealership from the Harris Motor Company’s site in Stoke as a one-man band for almost two decades.
He says: ‘I’m told this is a great achievement because, following the famous financial crash of 2007/08, a lot of businesses didn’t survive.
‘Thing have changed overnight for me, and I’m thrilled to share with you my next chapter. I have officially taken over a very long-established and well-respected family-owned business, which was started in 1907. Yes, that’s 109 years in the same family!’
He added: ‘I have shared the site with The Harris Motor Company since November 1997. We’ve worked as a partnership for all these years with The Harris Motor Company looking after all my customers for servicing, repairs and tyres. It’s a natural progression to take the business forward under my wings.’
Asked how his business will change to adapt to the new set-up, Samani replied: ‘I’ll keep you posted with lots of new changes, which will include providing customer experience with the “wow” factor and even better deals on servicing and vehicle repairs.’
