THE UK’s top Škoda retailers have been honoured for their hard work in 2013 at the company’s Retailer of the Year awards.
The annual ceremony, hosted by impressionist Rory Bremner and held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, recognised the achievements of the very best of the vehicle manufacturer’s 134 UK retailers across 11 different categories.
Ingram Škoda in Ayr, Heritage Škoda in Yeovil and Alex Lawrie Škoda in Liverpool were jointly awarded the top title of Retailer of the Year on the night in recognition of their outstanding all-round business performance.
Alasdair Stewart, the brand director of Škoda UK, said: “I would like to congratulate the winners on their awards and thank all of the retailers for their continued hard work and dedication. I’m confident that, together, we can make 2014 another record-breaking year.
“The number of cars sold in the UK is rapidly increasing every year and we are delighted to be setting new records. Sales of new Škoda vehicles reached a very impressive 66,000 units in 2013, compared with 53,200 for the previous 12 months – a significant 24 per cent increase. This is, of course, testament to the outstanding work of our retailers up and down the country.”
As well as the Retailer of the Year awards, prizes were also presented for new vehicle, used vehicle and fleet sales, new car volume, customer satisfaction, marketing, aftersales performance, and finance, as well as the UK Service Challenge.
