IT’S a scenario that would give any car dealer nightmares – a customer checking out one of your vehicles puts their foot down at precisely the wrong moment and crashes through a plate-glass window.
And it’s a catastrophe that actually happened recently – at a showroom in India, with the drama caught on CCTV.
A salesman had invited a customer, accompanied by her parents, to sit in a vehicle she was interested in buying.
Once behind the wheel, the car moved forward pretty quickly, dramatically smashing through the dealership’s windows and hitting two cars outside.
The customer is now reported to owe the business £5,300 – half the cost of the vehicle she was thinking of buying.
Fortunately, no-one was injured in the incident, which happened in Himachal Pradesh state in the north of the country.
