VOLVO has introduced a ‘Greenline’ range of aftersales components, which recycle parts from scrapped Volvos.
The scheme is part of the company’s Volvo Exchange parts system. This collects parts such as engines, gearboxes and axles from dealers. They are then remanufacturerd to OE standard.
An identical 12-month warranty to new Volvo components offers buyer confidence – at a price saving compared with off the shelf new parts.
Ecological benefits are a clear selling point, too. Volvo, for example, remanufactures a subframe for the S80.
The process saves on raw materials and energy, and reduces the cost of the part by 30 per cent.
Other parts in the Greenline range include propshafts, throttle assemblies, various brackets, spring/struts and chassis members. The parts are in stock at dealers now.
