WESTERN Automobile Company has been named Mercedes-Benz’s UK Retailer of the Year.
The dealership group, which has two sites in Edinburgh and one in Coldstream, won at the annual Mercedes-Benz Retailer Awards, held at the Rosewood hotel in London last Saturday, thanks to its excellent performance in all areas including new and used car sales, after sales and customer service, said the manufacturer.
Gary Savage, chief executive of Mercedes-Benz Cars UK, said: ‘It has been an outstanding year for all of our retailer partners, with Western Automobile Company having an exceptional year. They’ve achieved what they have by delivering the very best Mercedes-Benz customer experience.’
The Smart Retailer of the Year was Hertford-based L & L Automotive, with Savage saying: ‘L & L Automotive have put tremendous effort into the Smart brand and it shows – they have achieved great success.’

Le Roy Muntingh Outstanding Contributor Award – John McKenzie
In 2018, Mercedes-Benz Cars UK sold more than 172,000 cars and achieved over seven per cent market share, placing the brand first among German premium manufacturers.
