Automotive Influencers
With there being a lot of speculation surrounding 2012, we decided to get together the biggest names from the motor industry and asked them to give us their thoughts on the year ahead.
Our Automotive Influencers included the managing directors of Ford, Vauxhall, Citroen, Peugeot, Kia, and Chevrolet; and the president of Toyota and the president and CEO of Hyundai. Our influencers also included Pendragon’s boss and the chief executive of the SMMT.
Profit Clinic
Our Profit Clinic, held at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon in December, attracted more than 100 delegates who were urgent to hear about the firms and services they could be using in 2012 to help them make more profit. For those who could not attend, we have got a special feature reporting on each presentation.
Taiwan’s big ambitions
We headed out to Taiwan in Issue 47 to see the country’s plans to build electric cars. The country has a burgeoning industry in all types of electric vehicles and battery production, and they, like Korea and China before them, could be heading to the UK.
Detroit Motor Show
Detroit may not have the draw it used to – but that hasn’t stopped some of the biggest car manufacturers launching and previewing their new cars there. We report on the show which saw new machinery in the form of the new Ford Mondeo, the new Porsche 911 Cabriolet, Bentley Continental V8, and more.
Road tests
We slip behind the wheel of the Kia’s new D-segment rival – the Kia Optima. We also take a look at the refreshed Toyota Avensis, Porsche Panamera 4S, and the Volvo V60 DRIVe.
