Why winning a Used Car Award was such good news for us

Used car dealer principalWINNING a Car Dealer magazine Used Car Award really puts you and your business in the limelight – and can lead to some incredibly valuable publicity.

Earlier this week, we spoke to one of last year’s winners, Umesh Samani of Specialist Cars, Stoke-on-Trent, who said that even though it is almost a year since he picked up his gong as Dealers’ Dealer of the Year, his customers still remember his triumph.

And today we caught up with another of last year’s winners, Nathan Tomlinson of Devonshire Motors, a Mitsubishi dealership in Barnstaple, north Devon.


He too was in no doubt that winning an award had given him and his company a huge boost.

Tomlinson told us: ‘Winning Used Car Dealer Principal of the Year was a real accolade for me personally, but more importantly it provided us with the opportunity to show people that the way we retail used cars is a little bit different to the experience that they might expect from a franchised main dealer.

This year, the Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards, held in association with the TV programme Wheeler Dealers and sponsored by Black Horse Finance, will be held on Monday, December 1st at The Brewery in Chiswell Street, central London.

It’s sure to be a fantastic night of great food, drink and entertainment, as well as the excitement of the awards ceremony itself.

Nominations for the Used Car Awards are open now but time is running out as they close on Friday, October 31st.
