WORK has begun on a cutting-edge Porsche Centre in Teesside, which is scheduled to open early next summer.
The development adds to the current 36-strong Porsche Centre network in the UK and Ireland, and demonstrates a major investment in the brand and in Teesside. It will serve customers from across County Durham, North Yorkshire and the North East.
Occupying a 2.6-acre site on Concorde Way near Stockton, Porsche Centre Stockton-on-Tees will complement the existing Porsche Centres in Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield, also managed by JCT600.
The redevelopment of the two existing buildings which will form the new dealership is expected to take eight months to complete. The end result will be a 15-car showroom plus capacity for 40 pre-owned vehicles.
Customers will be able to enjoy a variety of new facilities and improved services including a nine-bay workshop; MOT bay; four-wheel alignment bay and ‘driver assist’ calibration bay; Porsche Direct Dialogue bay supporting quick, on-the-spot diagnosis; an executive lounge area and a kids’ zone complete with iPads and gaming pod.
The new centre will be equipped with a ‘Smart Energy’ building management system and full LED lighting.
John Tordoff, chief executive of JCT600, said: ‘We have enjoyed a long and productive relationship with Porsche and are proud to develop a new presence for the prestigious marque in Teesside.
‘For over two years, we have been searching for a site where we can showcase the stunning range of Porsche models and believe this prime location, just outside Stockton and close to the A66, is perfect.
‘The new centre will also have a positive impact on the region bringing such a high-quality business to the area and is expected to create 30 new jobs.’
