TOYOTA’s best-selling car will return to the nation’s television screens this month with a new advert.
The new 30-second television advert featuring the Yaris is called ‘All New Yaris vs Hungry Girlfriend’.
It’s the latest product from the cheekily-named ‘Toyota Yaris Productions’ and follows on from previous adverts namely ‘Gadget Guy’ and ‘Monster Truck’.
In this advert, the Japanese supermini has another dilemma on its hands: the driver’s girlfriend stomach is rumbling, and it is up to the Yaris and the driver to solve the problem.
But thanks to the Yaris’ in-built multimedia system called Toyota Touch and Go, a nearby restaurant is found and the girlfriend’s hungry stomach is supposedly alleviated.
The ad campaign uses the theme of ‘All new Yaris can outsmart life. Can You? The money’s on the Yaris’. It’s part of a larger social media campaign promoting the Yaris’ clever attributes and technological wizardry, and uses Facebook to get users to interact with the Japanese B-segment supermini.
Taking centre-stage on Toyota UK’s Facebook page, users can allow a special Toyota app to generate a ‘social snap shot’ of their Facebook news feed, and is branded as ‘The smartest, fastest way to catch up on the Facebook news you’ve missed’.
The ‘Hungry Girlfriend’ TV advert and the social media campaign is part of the Japanese manufacturer’s efforts to make their best-selling car more appealing to younger buyers.
The 30-second advert debuts on national television later this month.
