Landie staff's darts game

Time 8:44 am, October 22, 2008

A game of darts isn’t the most conventional way to gen up on product information.

But, via a canny online game, that’s how Land Rover staff are – pun alert – sharpening their skills.

This year’s Land Rover Brand Challenge has generated a whole host of traditional manuals and learning materials. These can be rather too much to swallow for some.

So web experts Netro42 was commissioned to design a fun new way of educating staff.

The result was a darts-based pub quiz, where staff are challenged to answer sets of randomly-selected questions on technical and financial details of current Land Rover models.

Fiona Morris, of Euro RSCG Skybridge, who commissioned the quiz on behalf of Land Rover, said: ‘The game was a great success. Not a single glitch or error was reported, and the take up and positive feedback from participants has been  exceptional.’

What a way, we reckon, to make training entertaining. And it’s something that you yourself can also investigate.

Netro42’s Tony Orsi said: ‘We’re being approached more and more by dealer groups and manufacturers who want to create fun ways of engaging with staff and customers – they’re really embracing modern technologies, which can only be a good thing.’

Netro42 also created a Land Rover version of its popular “Car Trumps®” game – and to get a taster, you can play other versions of Car Trumps® on newcarnet.co.uk
