BIG MIKE made us do it. Honestly he did. The conversation about our new range of T-shirts went something like this.
‘Oi Jimmy, seen them cartoon fings you done next to my column,’ growled the big man.
Understandably nervous as his vicious rottweiler leaked face juice onto the office floor, I squeaked something resounding an answer back.
‘Well, seeing as I know how to make a few bob I thought they’d look good on t-shirts. Few of the boys have been banging on about it down the lot, saying they want one. Get it sorted.’
I couldn’t work out whether it was a threat or not, but not wanting to upset our star columnist I decided it was probably a good idea to do what he wanted.
CARTOONS
After all, those ‘cartoons’ he referred to were pretty good. We had them produced for his Anatomy of a Car Buyer feature that went in the mag a few issues ago.
We’ve had a few made up and they look cracking – in fact I’m wearing my Fire Up The Quattro one now!
Big Mike even helped us with the designs – can you guess which one was his personal request?
