A CAR dealership in Bristol will sponsor a hot air balloon company in the city as it participates in Europe’s largest ballooning event.
Wessex Garages will loan a Nissan Navara to Bristol Balloons to help collect pilots and passengers after their flights, starting with The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, which takes place from August 11 to 14.
Andy Provis, group fleet and business centre manager at Wessex Garages on Pennywell Road, said: ‘The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is a fantastic, fun-filled festival for the family and we’re delighted we are able to once again sponsor Bristol Balloons, which is taking part in the event.
‘As part of our sponsorship the company will have the Nissan Navara for a year. The vehicle will be used during the balloon fiesta before and after flights and continue to be used this way after the festival for general flights.’
Bristol Balloons is based on Winterstoke Road, Ashton, Bristol, and organises hot air balloon flights from the Ashton Court estate and the surrounding areas.
Nic Amor, MD of Bristol Balloons, added: ‘We’re delighted that Wessex Garages has once again offered its support. The Nissan Navara will be a huge help to us when collecting pilots and passengers throughout the year.’
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is now in its 38th year and is Europe’s largest ballooning event. The fiesta attracts more than 100 hot air balloons with 500,000 members of the public attending over the four days.
