MERCEDES-Benz Cars has named Inchcape South Midlands as its Retailer of the Year.
An arm of the Inchcape group, with sites in Oxford, Coventry and Stratford-upon-Avon, the company won thanks to the customer-focused efforts of everyone across the business.
Gary Savage, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars UK, said: ‘Inchcape South Midlands has had an exceptional year. It’s all the more impressive because this has been an outstanding year for all our retailer partners, making Inchcape the very best.
‘They’ve achieved what they have by commitment and hard work across the company. They think and act like part of the Mercedes-Benz family, and embody the values which we encourage throughout the Mercedes-Benz retailer network.’
The Smart Retailer of the Year was also named at the awards, with Lookers of Sussex winning. Last year was the most successful yet for Smart in the UK, with more than 12,000 cars sold, and Lookers took every opportunity to play their part in this.
Savage said: ‘Lookers put as big an effort into selling our smallest car as they did in everything else. This Smart attitude helped achieve a big success.’
Other winners on the night were Inchcape (North West), which was named service and parts team of the year; Lancaster, which took the prize for Mercedes-AMG team of the year; and Sandown (Dorset and Wiltshire), which took the customer service team of the year award.
Mercedes-Benz Cars UK achieved another record year in 2016, with sales growth of 17 per cent. This year has already got off to a good start: in January, Mercedes-Benz sold 13,003 cars – a 10 per cent increase over January 2016.
