LAST weekend CarShop’s Executive Team braved the elements and raised over £12,000 for Global’s Make Some Noise, by completing the Wolf Run challenge.
CarShop continues to nudge closer to its target of £100,000 under its CarShop Cares Charity Programme and the team were said to be “delighted” with their contribution.
The wild running course takes place on the outskirts of Leicestershire and combines elements of mud runs, trail runs and obstacle runs on an unforgiving 10km long course.
The wolf pack was made up of, pictured left to right above, marketing & IT director Leo Nelson, operations director Kirk O’Callaghann, CEO Jonathan Dunkley, commercial director James Dunkley and CFO Brian Scott.
The team’s arduous journey started on Saturday afternoon within the grounds of Stanford Hall in Leicestershire. After two gruelling hours enduring the obstacles, the team crossed the finish line as ‘Winter Wolfs’.
Originally setting out to raise £10,000 for Global’s Make Some Noise, the CarShop pack surpassed their target and have raised £12,270 so far.
This is the latest event following a number of successful fundraising initiatives. CarShop is extremely passionate about charity and commitment to supporting children and young people local to its stores.
Nelson said: ‘I’m really thrilled with the entire team for completing the run today! Not only was it a great experience taking part, but to be able to raise such a large amount for our chosen charity and bring us closer to our year’s fundraising target is fantastic.
‘At CarShop we’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved so far in support of Global’s Make Some Noise, and remain fully committed to the ongoing success of the CarShop Cares Charity Programme. Working with Global’s Make Some Noise, we’ve been fortunate enough to really get involved with the local charities they support; many of whom have been into our stores to share their stories with our teams. It’s for this very reason that all colleagues throughout the business understand how they can help positively impact the lives of local children and their families.’
