That’ll do ice-ly! Motorpoint Castleford to set up rink in aid of hospice

Time 12:17 pm, December 11, 2018

MOTORPOINT is urging people to get their skates on and head to its Castleford branch between Christmas and the new year to take to the ice for free.

The car supermarket is teaming up with the Prince of Wales Hospice to build an ice skating rink at its five-acre branch in Whistler Drive between December 28 and 30. It will be open from 10am to 4pm, with people using it asked to make a donation to the hospice in exchange.

There will be free parking on site as well as free wifi plus hot and cold food and drinks available to buy.

Local music artists will be performing over the three days, and the Castleford Tigers rugby league players will be taking part in a special ‘Selection Box Treasure Hunt’ on December 29.

Motorpoint is a long-standing supporter of the hospice, having raised close to £10,000 for it this year.

Mick Martin-Roebuck, general manager of Motorpoint Castleford, said: ‘Christmas can be an expensive time of year for families. This is why we decided to build an ice rink between Christmas and the new year so people of all ages from the area can pop down to skate for free.

‘We look forward to welcoming everyone to Motorpoint Castleford between December 28 and 30.’
