THEFT from vehicles could be costing companies more than £3 billion a year in repair bills, says Pentagon London.
Research as shown that theft-damage to vehicles costs UK businesses more than £3 billion a year, and that only 43 per cent of vehicle break-ins are reported to the Police.
The statement comes after the automotive glazing security company has announced an ‘ambitious growth strategy’ for 2011 and a desire to work more closely with car dealers.
Ten new franchisees outside of the capital and to work with dealers in the fitment of their unique aftermarket anti-shatter security film ‘Supaglass’ is Pentagon London’s goal for 2011. The firm already fits the film to businesses, fleets and manufacturers to prevent so called ‘smash and grab’ crimes.
Managing director of Pentagon London Martin Westney, said: ‘In a relatively short space of time, our business has begun to move in a new direction as companies look at methods of reducing their exposure to unforeseen costs as a result of vehicle crime, as well as responding to CSR legislation.
‘Whilst car manufacturers are pushing the envelope in terms of vehicle construction, unprotected windows remain vulnerable to attack, which is where Pentagon offers an elegant and cost-effective solution that’s proven to provide a deterrent to opportunist crime, as well as significantly improved occupant protection in the event of a collision.
‘We welcome discussions with dealers who would like to offer this to their customers’.
