Jardine buys dealerships

Time 10:41 am, April 4, 2012

DEALER group Jardine Motors has now announced it has acquired three Toyota dealerships from Lookers plc – as Car Dealer revealed last month.

Jardine has purchased Lookers’ Toyota sites in Chelmsford, Rayleigh and Romford and a Lexus authorised repairer in Rayleigh from Lookers plc for an undisclosed sum. The dealerships will trade as Lancaster Toyota.

Alun Jones, chief executive of Jardine Motors Group said: ‘We are delighted to be growing our relationship further with Toyota who are our key brand partners. The south Essex territory is adjacent to the market area we acquired last year in Ipswich and Colchester giving us opportunities for further synergies’.

Car Dealer was tipped off about the acquisition last month.
