THE UK’s second largest classified website, Motors.co.uk, has introduced a new addition to its mobile app family with an all-new vehicle search option for consumers using Windows 8 devices.
The new app means the company now has search platforms available for Apple, Android and Windows devices, as well as its fully responsive website which provides access to more than 245,000 used cars from retailers and private sellers across the UK.
According to Motors.co.uk, more than 44 per cent of traffic to the website in October this year came from mobile or tablet devices – a significant rise from 26 per cent in October 2012.
Meanwhile, since the move to a fully responsive platform, Motors.co.uk has also seen Apple-owned Safari become the most used browser to access its website.
Andy Coulthurst, managing director of Motors.co.uk, said: ‘Motors.co.uk has led the way in terms of online and mobile innovations in the used car market and we’ve never charged dealers any extra for these advertising options. We’ve created our suite of apps to make searching for a vehicle as easy as possible for consumers.
‘With the news this year that Windows has overtaken BlackBerry for third spot in terms of volume sales and the prediction that it will reach number two position in the next few years, it was important for us to deliver a comprehensive package of solutions for consumers looking to search for vehicles from mobile devices.’
