All-new GS for dealers

Time 8:59 pm, October 21, 2011

lexus-1LEXUS dealers across the UK will be welcoming a brand new model to their showrooms in March.

The car in question is the all-new Lexus GS – a car that is showcasing the luxurious Japanese brand’s new identity and takes Lexus into the future.

The new GS 450h is the latest addition to Lexus’ range of full-hybrid vehicles, and the new car marks a step into the high performance sector too.

Fitted with Lexus’ second-generation Hybrid Drive system, the new GS 450h combines luxury with performance and efficiency as the car can get from 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds and has a maximum speed of 155mph. However, incredibly, the car emits less than 145 g/km.

On the outside, the new GS showcases the brand’s new identity with the next generation L-finesse design and trademark ‘spindle’ grille.

L-finesse makes the car look bolder and more dynamic – but the new car is the same length as the out-going model. An inverted trapezoid grille and slanted lower grille, and new L-shaped LED day-time running lights complete the GS’ bold new look for Lexus.

Also, the GS 450h comes with High Intensity Discharge (HID) vi-xenon headlights as standard, and bi-LED headlights are available as an option.

It’s on the inside where dealers can get really excited though. The new Lexus model features the world’s largest on-board multi-information display screen at 12.3 inches, which is also linked to a second-generation version of Lexus’ award-winning Remote Touch Interface.

Radar-guided cruise control make up the car’s Advanced Pre-Crash Safety system, while a clever system called Blind Spot Monitor keeps a watch on vehicles in adjacent lanes not covered by the door mirrors, keeping drivers as safe as possible.
