alan-henson-photoAUCTION group Aston Barclay has announced the appointment of a new national sales director.

In a move to accelerate the company’s growth, Alan Henson takes the new role and will be responsible for car manufacturers, leasing companies, rental operators and large fleet operators.

Henson joins the fleet vehicle remarketing specialist’s board alongside his predecessor, David Scarborough, who has moved into the newly created role of commercial director.

Henson said: ‘Aston Barclay is a business built on integrity, knowledge and experience that has a real desire to innovate and become the leading solutions provider in this sector. I’m joining at a really exciting time and I look forward to working with the Aston Barclay team.’

He joins the group from RL Polk & Co. – a global automotive information and marketing solutions provider – where he was Key Account Manager. Prior to this Henson held management positions at Glass’s Information Services and RAC Motoring Services.

Aston Barclay’s managing director, Tim Hudson, said: ‘We’re building one of the strongest management teams in automotive vehicle re-marketing and Alan’s considerable knowledge of the sector and personal drive will compliment and strengthen us as we embark on our future development plans.’
