Audis worth £30,000 stolen as second Inverness dealership targeted by thieves

Time 3:50 pm, July 5, 2019

THIEVES have struck again in Inverness to take cars from a dealership.

Top Car was broken into overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, with two Audis stolen.

The cars, together worth £30,000, were a silver A5 (registration SW11 DKU) and grey A6 (ST13 KBO) – the latter of which has since been recovered in the Dundee area.

It followed another Inverness dealership, Culloden Car Sales, being raided over the weekend, with thieves stealing three cars worth a total of £70,000 and leaving owner Donnie MacDonald ‘gutted’. Two of the vehicles, a grey Range Rover Sport and white Mercedes CLA, have been found – the Sport in Inverness and the CLA in Dundee. The third car, a green Ford Focus RS (RS10 FOR), remains missing.

Det Sgt Graeme Johnstone said: ‘Our inquiries into both of these incidents are ongoing and we are keeping an open mind on whether they are linked.’

He urged people to be vigilant and to let police know if they spotted either of the vehicles that are still missing – the Audi A5 and Ford Focus RS.

Anyone with information should get in touch with police by dialling 101 or via social media, or they can contact the garages.
