Motor Codes boss Mason moves on

dc14b78e-9ba3-4132-a797-7a4ea48317a3FISITA has appointed former Motor Codes MD Chris Mason as CEO, effective August 1, 2014.

In his new role, Mason will also become a member of the Board and serve as company secretary for FISITA (UK) Ltd – a non-profit, non-governmental umbrella organisation for the national automotive engineering societies in 37 countries.

Paul Mascarenas, president elect of FISITA, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Motor Company, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Chris to FISITA. His extensive industry experience and proven track record at SMMT and Motor Codes make him the ideal candidate to lead the team going forward.


‘It’s an exciting time for us all and marks the beginning of a new chapter in the rich history of the organisation.’

Mason brings more than 25 years experience in the automotive industry. Since joining SMMT in 2000, he has been a driving force behind the motor industry’s approach to raising standards. He also successfully established government-backed initiatives that covered new car sales, service and repair and vehicle warranties.

He said: ‘I am thrilled and tremendously proud to have been asked to lead such an important organisation. FISITA is clearly held in high regard by its members and the international automotive sector. As chief executive I am looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the organisation and supporting the automotive engineering community.’
