JENNINGS’ new Kia dealership is set to create 20 jobs in the North East.
The new franchise, which is set to open later this month, will be based on Opus Park, Preston Hall Farm, Stockton.
This move will be Jennings Motor Group’s second partnership with Kia, following the opening of the franchise in Washington, Wearside, which opened back in 2011.
According to The Northern Echo, the group employs 388 workers at branches in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Gateshead, South Shields and Washington, recording an annual turnover of £124m.
Jennings Motor Group managing director, Nas Khan, told The Northern Echo: ‘We are delighted to once again be joining forces with Kia Motors following the expansion and recent investment.
‘This demonstrates our commitment to Kia as a manufacturer, but it also shows our dedication to the people of the North East with the creation of new jobs.’
Kia business development director, Simon Hetherington, added: ‘We’re thrilled that Jennings has seen the potential for further growth with Kia in Teesside and are looking forward to getting behind the new franchise and helping to make it a success.’
