Manheim-logo1-e1365705759963MANHEIM has stepped up a level in the online sector, with the acquisition of an electronic truck and trailer remarketing business.

EVS Online Auctions has been obtained from its parent company European Vehicle Sales for an undisclosed sum and Manheim will now provide domestic and international truck and trailer buyers with a new 24/7 electronic auction platform.

Listing trucks, trailers and plant equipment from major outright purchase, contract hire, finance and leasing, manufacturer and franchised dealer sources, the online auctions operate on a timed basis. The European Vehicle Sales are now a strategic partner to support the delivery sales of a number of unique products and services for the truck and trailer sector.

Manheim’s UK chief executive and president of international operations, John Bailey said: ‘Manheim is the world’s leading automotive services business and this acquisition further enhances our number one position.

‘We’re simplifying the trusted exchange of used vehicles and during the industry’s exciting development phase, the digital environment is playing an increasingly significant role.’

Managing director and owner of European Vehicle Sales, Richard Mills added: ‘Modern technology provides so many opportunities for our business and our customers alike. Alongside EVS Online Auctions we developed a fantastic proposition by harnessing technology and developing a super-efficient online sales channel.’
