756420motors20logo20rgb-2-no-straplineMANHEIM, the parent company of Motors.co.uk, has announced big spending plans in a bid to make the website a household name.

The multi-million pound commitment will include major national TV advertising and is designed to increase the used car classified website’s popularity.

Motors.co.uk says it has been working closely with its sister company AutoTrader.com to maximise learnings of building a major national brand.

As part of the collaboration, Clark Wood, until recently chief marketing officer of AutoTrader.com, will be working closely with the team at Motors.co.uk to ensure a high impact of delivery.

John Bailey, CEO Manheim UK and president of international operations for Manheim, said: ‘Motors.co.uk is a great company, with great products and opportunities. It is only right that we make sure that consumers know about the benefits of the site to help increase their confidence to transact.

‘At Manheim, we are committed to the automotive industry and believe that in Motors.co.uk we have a great opportunity to increase sales leads to our dealers.

Motors.co.uk’s managing director Andy Coulthurst added: ‘We strongly believe that Motors.co.uk can help provide consumers with more confidence and enjoyment when changing their car. We aim to create a site with tools and brand awareness that quickly becomes a must-visit for consumers. We will deliver added value to our dealers as we drive more consumers to their forecourts and provide them with tools that help bolster sales effectiveness. We hope for Motors.co.uk to be known, trusted and loved by both consumers and dealers.

‘During the period from now until TV launch we will be significantly increasing our online response advertising spend to boost enquiries for our dealer partners over the coming months and our team will be contacting each of our 4,000 dealers over the coming weeks to discuss the plan in more detail with them.

‘We have a great team who are all passionate about helping dealers and consumers. We all share a belief that by empowering our consumers we will drive sustained performance for our dealers.’
