Mercedes C-Class CoupeTHE first pictures of Mercedes-Benz’s latest stylish two-door – the C-Class Coupe – have been published.

The new Coupe is the latest addition to the C-Class range. Mercedes says the car allows them to enter the classic coupe market segment, and the Coupe has been designed to appeal to ‘a customer group aged 35 to 45 for whom professional success, love of life and a strong sense of responsibility are all important.’

‘By extending the C-Class portfolio, we are consciously targeting new customers,’  says Dr Joachim Schmidt, head of sales and marketing.

‘The new model is youthful, stylish and dynamic. What we are offering is an exceptionally sporty way to enter the world of the Mercedes-Benz coupe.’

The German firm is adamant that the Coupe is no two-door saloon. The new car has been designed to be a ‘typical coupe’ with ‘powerful shoulders, a narrow C-pillar, short front overhang, long bonnet, steeply raked windscreen, strethced out roof, and a short tail.’

UK buyers will be able to take advantage of a sporty ‘typical coupe’ as the C-Class Coupe will come as standard with an AMG sports package, made up of body-styling and 18-inch alloys.

Three petrols and two diesel units feature in the range and all are badged as BlueEFFICIENCY. The V6-engined C 350 steals first place in the power output table with 225bhp, while the C 220 CDI has the honour of being the C-Class Coupe’s most economical model with an average MPG figure of 64.2.

The new two-door Merc will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in early March and will be making its way to dealers from June.
