Codes’ status update

Time 9:36 am, May 25, 2012

MOTOR Codes, the automotive industry’s provider of OFT-approved codes of practice, has been given Investors in People status.

An audit in March this year pointed to a culture of dedication to learning and development, an open, engaging and empowering staff environment, with high levels of commitment to the overall aims of Motor Codes.

Chris Mason, managing director of Motor Codes (pictured), sees the Investors in People Award as an important measure of the self-regulatory body’s establishment on the consumer landscape.

‘The underlying reason for the effectiveness of Motor Codes as a business and consumer support mechanism is its personal touch, particularly where our business and consumer advice line service is concerned,’ he said.

‘What’s most encouraging is that the auditors picked up on the keenness to adapt to the changing needs of the market-place.  We’ve shown ourselves to be forward-thinking and this is a welcome independent recognition of the team’s desire to aim high, both where our committed, subscribing garages are concerned and in relation to consumer experience levels.’

The Investors in People award follows further external recognition of the work undertaken by Motor Codes, with the Office of Fair Trading granting its Service and Repair Code full Consumer Codes Approval status in November last year.
