CHESTERFIELD-based Volvo retailer Stoneacre has opened the doors of its purpose-built showroom after a multi-million-pound investment.
The premises at Brimington Road North have been undergoing development since last year.
The site, located across the road from its former home, has seen its retailer capacity increase to display 10 cars in the showroom, where the newly launched XC40 is showcased alongside other models in the Volvo range.
The vehicles are plugged into power units to allow features of the car to be demonstrated whilst stationary and state-of-the-art digital showroom information systems are all touchscreen providing customers with a host of detail on the vehicles.
The build is in keeping with the Volvo Retail Experience (VRE), the manufacturer’s Swedish-inspired concept which focuses on space and design, and was overseen by the group’s in-house team of builders who appointed their own sub-contractors to complete the project.
Ben Febrero, Volvo general sales manager at Stoneacre Chesterfield Volvo, said: ‘With the build taking place across the road, we have kept a keen eye on developments along with our customers so it was very exciting to relocate once it was completed. I am confident our customers will agree that we have created a fantastic facility fit for the premium car owner.’
The new showroom includes a glass viewing area for customers to watch service technicians work on their vehicles in the workshop.
Carried out in workshop bays equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment and tools, teams of Personal Service Technicians (PST) work on cars as pairs rather than individually, which means work can be carried out twice as fast, nearly halving customer wait times.
