Nissan to north Norfolk

Time 8:17 am, August 20, 2012

JAPANESE firm Nissan now has a dealership in north Norfolk for the first time in six years.

Crayford and Abbs opened their new showroom in Bodham at the start of July, unveiling the impressive building to hundreds of delighted customers, many of whom have been loyal to the company over a period of many years.

The Bodham showroom represents a major expansion of the company’s presence there and complements the firm’s other site 13 miles away in Mundesley.

Kevin Abbs, dealer principal (pictured left), said: ‘We had 60 or so customers at our official opening and shortly after that we had about 350 people for a barbecue and jazz open day.

‘From a PR point of view, we’re getting some nice media interest and we’re chuffed to bits with the showroom, it’s working really well.

‘Quite a few people are surprised to find that we have a seven or eight car showroom here in north Norfolk. They have expected us to not be comparable to city garages but what we have provided is exactly that but set in a nice rural environment.

‘All the staff are very enthusiastic. And there’s lots of Nissan experience in the team.’

Abbs is ably assisted by Kevin Lake managing Bodham and Gavin Plummer at Mundesley. He said: ‘Without their support, knowledge and experience, we would not be able to offer such a good level of service to our customers.

‘It is good to have Nissan back in north Norfolk after a gap of six years where previously they enjoyed a strong market presence and excellent brand loyalty.’

Abbs has always been keen on the Nissan brand – and one of his company’s most loyal customers, Pat McIntosh (pictured right), has purchased an incredible 24 Nissans over the past 40 years.

Pat was invited to cut the ribbon to mark the return of Nissan to north Norfolk, a task she was happy to carry out.
