Peter Johnson joins board of Marshall parent company

Peter JohnsonPETER JOHNSON has been appointed as a non-executive director of the parent company of Marshall Motor Group.

Daksh Gupta, chief executive of the company, said: ‘This is a fantastic appointment for Marshall and I am delighted that we will have such a significant motor industry figure joining the board of our parent company.

‘I have known Peter personally for 15 years, since we were both at Inchcape and more recently through the National Franchised Dealers’ Association.


‘His deep understanding of the industry and Marshall will be invaluable to our shareholders as we move into the next phase of our strategy in Marshall Motor Group.’

Johnson, pictured, said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Marshall at such an exciting time. The company continues to go from strength to strength and I look forward to working with Daksh and his team.’

Johnson is no stranger to Marshall. He was sales director at Austin Rover in the 1980s, joining Marshall Motor Group as chief executive in 1990, leading the company’s expansion during the last recession. He moved to Inchcape plc in 1995.


The official title of Marshall’s parent company is Marshall of Cambridge (Holdings) Limited.
