Pure Highway DAB digital radio

Time 10:27 pm, November 19, 2008

IT was once thought to be the next big thing for the airwaves, but DAB digital radio has never really been accepted by car drivers.

Home users have lapped up the technology but poor performance in cars has put off motorists. The Pure Highway aims to change all that.

It’s a plug and play device that allows you the increased station choice that DAB offers but plays the sound through your existing system.

Once tuned in to your favourite station, the unit sends the music via an FM receiver to your car radio. This means you lose some of the improved sound quality that DAB is supposed to offer, but the fact you can get more stations is worth it.

Unfortunately, the power cord hangs down across your dash, but the ReVu function that lets you pause and rewind live shows is brilliant. We also like the 20 DAB presets and the fact you can use it to play your iPod through your stereo.
