Stunning Skoda deal

Time 7:30 am, January 22, 2009

Stunning deal for Skoda dealersSKODA will stun the hot hatch market with a bargain version of the Octavia vRS – costing just £16,294!

A limited run of 500 cars include metallic grey paint, a leather interior and special 18-inch alloys – and customers will also pay NO VAT.

The extras alone are worth £1900, yet the list price increases by only £750. And, with the VAT cut, this means the Golf GTI engined model is available for little more than £16k.

A Golf retains for over £20k.

While the vRS goes without the facelift enjoyed by the rest of the Octavia range, it still includes many enhancements. There is a touch-screen radio, new dash trim and Italian leather for the seats.

The front buckets have the individual limited edition number of the car sewn in.

Also available in estate guise, and with a 170PS 2.0-litre TDI engine, the Octavia vRS special is probably a run-out special, signaling Skoda’s eventual intent to launch the 2009 facelift on the vRS range.

Even so, as product marketing manager Warren Richards said,  ‘the Octavia vRS is already astonishingly good and, for a select number of drivers, we’ve made it even better by creating this exclusive limited edition.’
