Suzuki and Mitsubishi dealership goes into administration

Time 1:56 pm, December 13, 2019

A CARDIFF car dealership group has gone into administration with the loss of around 30 jobs.

Jenkins Group, a Mitsubishi and Suzuki dealer based in the city’s Hadfield Road, is currently explaining on its website that it is no longer trading but adds that ‘both Suzuki and Mitsubishi will be opening in Cardiff at new locations in 2020’.

The website adds: ‘We’d like to thank everyone for their custom and support over all these years – we have truly valued your business and friendship.

‘You’ll still be able to see some familiar faces at the brands’ new homes next year!’

A disgruntled former employee told Wales Online that staff were first told in October that the company had run out of money and was looking for a buyer.

The member of staff added that everyone was summoned to a meeting on November 26 to be told the company was shutting up shop that day.

Customers with service plans are being directed to other Suzuki and Mitsubishi dealerships in south Wales for assistance.

Calls to the dealer group are being met with a message saying: ‘Sorry, this system is not in service.’

Tri group, in Shrewsbury is acting as the administrator for the company with a statement on the Companies House website confirming Jenkins Garages (Wales) Ltd is in administration – despite the company’s own website saying it has been ‘sold’.
