Toyota reveals new Yaris

Time 10:22 am, June 17, 2011

yarisTOYOTA has revealed details on the third generation Yaris which will be launched in the UK this summer.

The all-new version of the Toyota supermini is a development of the original concept of ‘compact outside, spacious inside’ which debuted more than 10 years ago.

Better materials and better build quality will feature in the new Yaris, as will the debut of Toyota Touch and Go – an affordable multimedia package which centres around a 6.1-inch display in the dashboard.

The firm believes Touch and Go will be standard equipment on 95 per cent of sales.

Three engines will be available all with low emissions, and fuel-efficient Toyota Optimal Drive technology – a 1.0-litre VVT-i and 1.33-litre dual VVT-i petrol units and a 1.4-litre D-4D diesel.

Didier Leroy, president and CEO Toyota Motor Europe, said: ‘New Yaris represents Toyota’s strongest offer yet in the important supermini segment. With its new levels of ingenuity, efficiency and quality, we are confident it can build upon Yaris’s previous success and help Toyota rejuvenate its presence in Europe and move towards one million annual sales in the region in the medium term.’
