GTC order book open

gtcVAUXHALL has finally released pictures of its sporty three-door version of the Astra – the GTC.

In fact, Vauxhall has not only released these official pictures, but has opened the order books today too.

Under the swooping bonnet lies a choice of four engines – three petrols and one diesel – with prices kicking off at £18,495 for the 1.4-litre Sport version, and rising to £22,430 for the 2.0-litre CDTi SRi.

‘The GTC is a high-profile addition to the Astra range and one that’s sure to appeal to anyone who loves cars and driving,’ said Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s managing director.

‘Better still, its chassis has been fine-tuned by Vauxhall Engineering Centre in the UK, reflecting the importance of our Millbrook-based operation, and also the fact that the UK will be the dominant market for GTC when it arrives in showrooms later this year.’

The public will get a taste of the new car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, while hot-hatch fans need only to wait until next year, as Vauxhall confirms a VXR version is coming.
