STAFF at a car dealership in Bristol have raised £220 for a dance charity in the city by getting waxed.
Ollie Glossop and Mitch Clark, who both work at Wessex Garages on Hayes Way at Cribbs Causeway, had their chests and stomachs waxed in aid of Dance Voice.
Dance Voice is a Dance Movement Psychotherapy charity based in Bedminster. It is one of the UK’s leading centres dedicated to community-based creative arts therapy. It is also an established training centre for dance movement psychotherapists.
Simon Newson, general manager of the new purpose-built, Nissan dealership, said: ‘We would like to say a huge ‘‘thank you’’ to our apprentice technician, 19-year-old Ollie and parts advisor, 20-year-old Mitch, who were very brave and had their chests and stomachs waxed in aid of our charity of the year, Dance Voice.
‘Ollie also went the extra mile and got the front of his legs and arms waxed too. Ugne Briedyte, who is our data administrator at Wessex Garages, did the waxing free of charge as she took a body waxing course last year.
‘So far the pair have raised £220 but there is still money coming in. Anyone who would like to sponsor them can still pop into our dealership or visit www.justgiving.com/wessex-wax/.’
Clark added: ‘The wax was really painful, much more painful than I had expected it to be. Ugne was very good though and I am happy I did it for such a great cause.’
Wessex Garages is a privately-owned new and used car company that has outlets in Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester and Newport.
