West Way Nissan fuels further growth with Birmingham acquisition

Time 9:30 am, June 19, 2017

WEST WAY has strengthened its position in the Midlands after adding a Nissan franchise in Birmingham to its collection.

The purchase of Colliers Nissan in Warwick Road, Acocks Green, by the UK’s largest Nissan dealer group takes West Way’s portfolio to 15 sites nationwide.

It follows a period of sustained growth for the group over the past few years, during which West Way has completed takeovers of prominent Nissan outlets in London and increased its presence in Greater Manchester.

This has seen it surge into the UK automotive retail sector’s top 40 – selling more than 30,000 cars a year – with the group currently running at more than double Nissan’s national market share.

In addition to the new site in Birmingham, West Way now operates sites in Aldershot, Basingstoke, Birmingham, Coventry, Hanwell, Manchester, Mill Hill, Oldham, Oxford, Rochdale, Southampton, Stockport, Stourbridge and Wolverhampton.

Tony Lewis, managing director of West Way, said: ‘We are delighted to be adding this thriving and well-located dealership to our portfolio and to be establishing an even firmer foothold in the second city.

‘We are also thrilled to welcome members of the dealership’s strong and experienced line-up into the West Way family, where they will complement an already talented and focused team.’

He added: ‘We have gone from strength to strength alongside the Nissan brand, with over 8,000 customers every month trusting West Way for servicing and maintenance work. This latest acquisition enables us to further increase our customer base and help us drive more market share for Nissan.

‘The recent launch of the fantastic all-new Nissan Micra is introducing the brand to an entirely new type of customer, and we are already looking forward to the arrival of the new Qashqai later this year.’
