Nissan appoints new UK sales director

Time 11:19 am, October 2, 2017

NISSAN Motor GB Limited has appointed Andrew Sellars as its new UK sales director.

Sellars, pictured, was previously vice president of commercial operations for the APAC region at Volvo Car Group. Before that, he held a variety of senior positions at Kia.

He has more than 18 years operational dealer experience, having worked his way up from a salesman position to group head.

Sellars said: ‘With such a fresh model line-up, having launched three great new models this year, and with the ground breaking new Leaf still to come, we are in a great position to address the challenges that today’s market presents. Working hand in hand with our network partners is not only important, but pivotal in my approach, as we look to adapt and evolve our business to maximise the fantastic opportunities that the Nissan brand presents.’

Alex Smith, managing director of Nissan Motor GB, said: ‘Andrew comes with a proven track record, and extensive network and retail experience. I am confident that his wealth of experience and strong network focus will help us build excellent relations with the network, which will prove critical as we look to develop the business in the UK.’

The role of UK sales director became vacant after the previous one, Darren Payne, moved to Dubai to take up the position of sales director for Nissan’s Middle East region.

Smith added: ‘I would like to thank Darren for the significant contribution he has made to the Renault-Nissan Alliance in the UK over the last 8 years, and in particular at NMGB over the past 18 months. Darren has been instrumental in delivering a record market share and volume performance in the close to our last financial year, as well as recording still further market share growth in this financial year. I wish him the very best in his new role for Nissan.’
